Ecrater Multiple Purchases Shipping Matrix Solution

I believe this is a solution that will work for sellers that have lightweight (first class, under 13 oz) items for sale on Ecrater and have multiple purchases.

Let me know what you think at Gizmosvintage@gmail.com .

Here is the suggestion:

Ecrater shipping matrix for items under 1 lb. with multiple purchases.

For this example we will use USA only, but the same will hold true for other countries as well.
First do not think of the “weight” of the item. Think of it as one unit or one item (ex. pair of earrings)

In admin -
Under shipping and taxes. Choose weight scales and click on small. Click update

In shipping zones - USA mainland ( for this example) Click update

Now choose shipping matrix. Under the 1 put in the amount you will be charging for shipping ONE item.

Now, in the next box to the right under 2 put in the amount you would charge if the person purchased 2 lightweight items, ( ex. 2 pairs of earrings ) and do the same in the box under 4, etc. In any of these boxes you can give a discount, it doesn’t have to be MORE than the amount charged for 1 item. Be sure to click update.

EX. you charge 1.50 to ship 1 pair of earrings and want to charge 2.00 to ship 2 pairs, and 3.00 to ship 3 - 4 and have free shipping for 5 or more.

Listing the product:

Put in all your pertinent information ( title etc.) and when you get to the weight portion put in the number 1. This as mentioned above will stand for 1 unit or item, not weight.

Next - Under shipping choose weight dependable.

Be sure to click on add when finished with this page.

After the purchase:

Ecrater will look at the amount of items purchased, and see what you have put in the product form for “weight” on each item which will be 1 and add them up. They will also “round up” to the next highest weight. So If the buyer purchased 2 pairs of earrings and under each product listing you have a 1, Ecrater will total them to 2. They will then look at the shipping matrix to see what you have for the shipping under 2. If the buyer purchases 5 earrings, Ecrater sees a total of 5, rounds up and sees what you have under that weight in the matrix.

Ex.
Buyer purchases 1 pair of earrings - shipping is 1.50

Buyer purchases 2 pair of earrings - shipping is 2.00

Buyer purchases 3 pairs of earrings - shipping is 3.00

Buyer purchases 4 pairs of earrings - shipping is 3.00

Buyer purchases 5-6 pairs of earrings - shipping is 0.00

I tried this out for my husbands new ecrater site and did a sample purchase. It seemed to work just fine. Hope this works for others!

Thanksgiving

Hope all had a nice restful Thanksgiving. We had more friends and family than usual and it was really great.

I don't think my dog enjoyed his pilgrim hat that much though.

How many of you went shopping the next day? I certainly did not, too many people!

Having a mad rush on Etsy sales, and that is great, hope it keeps up.

Seems I am having to change out my items on Vintage Village at a nice regular clip as well.

Have a great day!

Vintage Mid Century Black Panther TV Lamp

A great kitchy find! I came across this vintage black panther or jaguar lamp a few days ago. What a great find. It is in excellent condition and works great!

I have this on Etsy right now, but may be moving it to Ebay.

Love this stuff.

My Dog's Halloween Costume

Well, I never make or buy outfits for my dog because he absolutely hates it. But, I came up with this idea and decided I just had to do it.

The hat came out kind of funky, but well, here is a couple of pics of my dog in his Napoleon-Admiral style outfit, epaulettes and all.

You may start laughing now!

Amy Butler Tote Bags

One of my preferences for fabric is just about anything in the Amy Butler line. I especially like the lotus and belle line, but it will, or is no longer being produced.

Here is the latest bag I made using her fabric and I also am showing a bag I made today with some pansy flower fabric.

My bags can be found at Janastotesandbags.etsy.com or on Ebay under Janastotesandbags. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or requests.

Have a great weekend!

Ebay vs. Etsy

So some prefer one over the other. I personally use both. Etsy is a much friendlier place, easier to use, more freedom with your listings as far as shipping goes! And the fees are much better.

Ebay has handcuffed the sellers, and their fees are outrageous!

I am on both, and right now Etsy is outdistancing Ebay by a mile!

It seems upon searching for items on Ebay that the listings are way down, at least in the vintage category.

Here is a thread link on Etsy regarding this discussion:

Curious what you think about this issue.

A Great Shoe Find!

I went to some sales yesterday, and found a large collection of vintage miniature shoes. There were 3 large boxes full. There is Fenton glass in different colors, some porcelain, some art glass large boots ( wow), and various others. I know there are a lot of shoe collectors out there and will be listing these finds on both Ebay and Etsy. Hope there will be something there for you!

Here is a sampling of what I found:

New Addition

Well we have a new addition here, not sure how long he will stay! He seems to have taken up residence under the woodpile. Cute little squirrel, fat and sassy.

Here are some pics of our Jadite collection, mostly by Mckee, Jeannette and Fire King. These pics includes some other Fire King pieces as well.

In with the Jadite is also Mckee Custard and Seville Yellow.

On the Hoosier is some green depression glass.

And some more.....

This cabinet contains Fire King Vitrock Grease, Creamer, Sugar, and Shaker sets.

There are other various pieces here and there. We loved collecting these, but just have no more room!

In The Beginning

Well, this is my first post on my new blog. I am very new to this kind of thing.

A little about myself.

I am retired and am a lover of vintage. I especially like bakelite, jadite, vintage purses, and vanity items. I also love to create handmade totes and bags.

My husband is also retired and is an especially fine flint knapper. He makes arrowheads using NON modern tools. An award winner I might add.

I have two grown successful sons both working for major corporations. My oldest is married to a lovely young woman, a success in her own right, and lives in another city. My youngest lives nearby and is enjoying his life as a bachelor.

We have been sellers on ebay for over 10 1/2 years, and I now sell on Etsy, and Artfire.

As you can see by the pic below, I also have many turtles, tortoises and our special little family member the dog. Oh, and we also have a cat.

I hope to be able to keep up with this blog! I think it might be fun.

Have a great day!
