Cute Hand Knapped Mini Arrowhead Knives

My husband is a flint knapper. He has taught himself the art of flint knapping and uses traditional methods. He makes arrowheads, and is now making little mini knives.

The knives are made with either a deer antler tip or coyote tooth or foot bone for the handle and the blades are made from various materials - Obsidian, Agate, Jasper, Knife River Flint, etc.

They can be as a display piece, or some can be made into jewelry as pendants. They measure from about 1 1/4" to 2".

You can check them out at his website Desertknapper with Etsy here.

Here is a sampling of some of the little knives you will find there:

Antique Monogram Embroidery Forms by Tico

Ever wonder how the expert artisans of last century made their perfect raised monogrammed letters? Well this weekend at an estate sale I found out their secret.

I came across several vintage / antique letter forms used for embroidering those wonderful scrolled monograms. The forms are placed on the spot where you want the monogram to go and are embroidered over them. Okay, I am sure there were many an artist that free handed it!

The monogram forms can be purchased in my Etsy shop or they be purchased by emailing me at gizmosetsy@gmail.com. I have the letter "K" ( 8 of them), and the letter "M" some of which could be used as a "W" I suppose. The letters are in or on their original packaging, and all but one package is unopened. There are scroll Victorian style letter "M's", in various sizes and another set that look Roman. The "K's" are a simpler scroll style.

Following are a few example pictures of the letters.

See you on Etsy, or the Vintage Village!
